Motivational Post

Every time I run into this motivational quote I love it all over again.

“I don’t want to get to the end of my life and find that I have lived just the length of it.  I want to have lived the width of it as well.”  – Janet Ackerman

Why do I love this quote?

Because it encourages me to live fully.  To share good times and good stories; to help as many as I can much as I can; to eat as healthily as I can so I can live wide while feeling well and strong.

I want to leave a wide footprint.  In order to do that, I must be healthy and well and fully functional until it’s time to leave this life I love.

And I want to help you leave a wide footprint, too.

Let’s be healthy together.  🙂

My friend has a wall full of motivational quotes, this one included. It has to be one of my favorites, though, for the exact reasons you mentioned. Leaving a wide, positive, footprint in life is a good thing to strive for.

Wow, love your post. I came across your website because I am looking for ways to overcome chronic lower back pain (received in a nasty fall). I have had all sorts of medication but want to be able to control the pain by positive thought, the power of auto suggestion if you like. Love the quote, it reflects my thoughts entirely. I am working on the width of my footprint!

Hi Teresa. Thank you for writing and for working on making a wide footprint! I’d like to let you know, too, that you have a smart body. It can heal. It may need some additional help right now. Perhaps a trigger point therapist will be just the person you need. If you are in Florida, seek http://StJohn-Clarkptc.com or David Kent on the Atlantic side of FL. They are excellent! Not just “any old massage therapist” but one who understands how bodies work and who helps people attain pain relief. Most massage therapists do great relaxation massages but that may not be what you need right now.

Hi Kathryn,
I love this post! I have had my head down living hand to mouth for the past six months since having a baby. I’ve enjoyed every minute of it, but am looking forward to getting some balance back. I don’t feel like I’m really living wide at the moment but I guess you can be living wide even in your living room. Rachel

Hi Rachel, Yes, you surely can live wide in your living room. Having a baby will help you live wider still! 🙂

You are so right Kathryn, what really matters is not how long you live, but how well. We should try to enjoy every minute of our lives and live like today is our last and appreciate each and every day that we are alive.
